Introduction to Archaeology with the Archaeological Research Institute In-Person

Archaeology is more than the study of the past--it is a vital tool for protecting the cultural resources that shape our shared story. In this engaging Introduction to Archaeology presentation, the Archaeological Research Institute (ARI) brings the science of archaeology to life while highlighting the importance of preserving at-risk archaeological sites.

Participants will learn what archaeology is (and what it isn't), how archaeologists investigate and interpret sites, and why this work matters for communities today. The presentation also explores pathways into the field and meaningful ways individuals can support and participate in local preservation efforts.

Grounded in ARI's commitment to education, stewardship, and public engagement, this program empowers audiences to better understand, value, and help protect our archaeological heritage.
