SUMMARY:AARP Tax Preparation
DESCRIPTION:AARP is offering free tax help to patrons with low to moderate 
 income\, special attention to those 60 and older. LIMITED SPACE\, 
 REGISTRATION REQUIRED\, YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION. Those filing joint 
 returns should only make one reservation\; couples filing separately are 
 asked to reserve different slots. Appointments can be made for any Monday 
 starting February 02\, 2025\, and ending on April 06\, 2025. Appointments 
 begin at 9:30AM with the last appointment starting at 12:30PM.\n\nThe IRS 
 was directed to reduce or eliminate paper refund checks to taxpayers. If 
 you choose paper refund checks\, it may take 6-12 weeks to get their 
 refund.  Please bring your checkbooks or direct deposit information to the 
 appointment.  Additional information can be obtained at:  
 https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-to-phase-out-paper-tax-refund-checks-starting-with-individual-taxpayers. 
  This site also includes information to aid the taxpayer in setting up an 
 account for direct deposit.\n\nAARP will meet with taxpayers and conduct a 
 brief interview as taxpayers drop off relevant documents with AARP. 
 Taxpayers will then wait in another area of the Library while AARP finishes 
 preparing the returns. A short time later\, taxpayers will reconvene with 
 AARP to sign their documents and pick up their copy of the 
 return.\n\nCopies of AARP-relevant documents may be retrieved in advance or 
 day-of from the Zionsville Branch library by asking staff at the main 
 service desk. They are also attached below.\n
